Kurling At Kingswood Trust

Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Or more politely can a group of ‘Young at heart’ adults enjoy learning new skills? This was the situation my friends and I found ourselves in when we booked into Kingswood Trust for a fun filled session.
We were invited to try our hands at Kurling (without the ice) on a smooth indoor floor surface. Initially, we novices politely had a go at this new skill of sending the curling stones towards the target mat. However, the politeness soon fell away as a competitive spirit entered the game with each team trying to outdo the other! It was hilarious fun, as in the final few moments of the round you could send your opponents’ stone flying off the target mat! I can highly recommend this activity one of many on offer at Kingswood. If you book in as a group there are a few fun things to try out and you can tailor -make the session to suit your particular interests.
I would heartily recommend a visit to Kingswood Trust through ‘Nature Connections’ which always includes a refreshing walk in the extensive grounds which are beautiful. You can feed the sheep on your walk and enjoy visiting the small pet’s area as you stroll around. After your walk you may be offered the opportunity to join in with a fun craft activity too.
There is always a cuppa and cakes on offer to round off your visit. The staff and volunteers ensure that a warm welcome is always a priority to groups who are visiting. Many visitors return to try out new skills and opportunities.
