Nature4All – Enjoy the fresh air, the seasons and feel happy
The Nature4All project, funded by the Green Recovery Challenge Fund is all about connecting people to nature, developing, and preserving the environment, biodiversity, and wildlife conservation.
Thanks to National Lottery players, this popular project has been supported by 86 volunteers aged 14-84, learning new skills and completing 143 volunteer sessions. Over 7580 work hours were put in with a value of £75,850 (@£10 per hour).
Our aim is to get people relaxing in many different nature spaces, to enjoy the fresh air, the seasons and to feel happy. Our secure, nine-acre site is accessible and there are many opportunities to engage with wildlife and animals. This provides an amazing setting for learning outdoors, communication, family days out and having fun.
We have two more days open for the community every week, Wild Walk and Nature Play on Saturdays and Park and Play on Tuesdays.
Ukrainian Families Forest Fun Days
Ukrainian families enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities including meeting our animals and pets, campfire cooking, den building and being together with others and having fun outdoors.

Covid-19 recovery to improve health and wellbeing for the over 65s
As part of Covid-19 recovery we offer free places for people aged 65+ and carers through our Nature Connections project to improve health and wellbeing. These offer opportunities to meet others though going for a walk, joining in an outdoor activity, and in some indoor activities such as crafts and music.
We also hold the dementia friendly badge and offer bespoke visits to organisations, care homes and charities that support older people.
Volunteer Grounds Work Skill Opportunities for the 16+
There is new grounds work undertaken here by volunteers age 16+ who learn skills and benefit from working together. This includes a new gardening area with a tree and plant nursery and a community forest area. We are developing a new raised bed gardening facility for adults, people with learning difficulties, volunteers, and all our children’s groups.
Grounds work is developing sustainable features such as rain-water collection and composting. We run regular community volunteering and offer corporate and large group volunteering as well as volunteer projects for adults with special educational needs and poor mental health.
There is a sense of positivity, warmth, achievement, and togetherness generated through our newly funded activities. Everyone is welcome…. all abilities, interests, and backgrounds.
